Every price below is the real, current rate at our salon on 3330 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N — not a starting-from figure that changes once your dog is on the table.
Grooming is priced two ways, because two dogs of the same weight can take very different amounts of time. The first table covers single-coated dogs. The second covers poodles, doodles, and double-coated breeds, whose coats take longer to work through. Within each table, prices step up across five sizes from small to XXL.
Everything else — nail trims, teeth, ears, de-shedding — can be added to any appointment, or booked on its own. If your dog needs something that takes extra time, like dematting or a hand-scissored cut, you'll hear about it and agree to it before we start, never at pickup.

What decides your dog's price
- Size. Five bands, small through XXL. Each step up adds about $10 to the base service.
- Coat type. Single coats sit in the first table. Poodles, doodles, and double coats sit in the second, because they take longer.
- Condition. A well-brushed coat grooms quickly. A matted one is billed at $1 per minute for the extra time.
- Time since the last groom. Past eight weeks, the coat has to be reformed first — also $1 per minute.
- The cut itself. Anything over half an inch, multiple lengths, hand scissoring, or pattern work is quoted individually.
How to keep the cost down
Book on a regular cycle
Every four to six weeks keeps the coat at a length we can work with, and avoids the 8+ week reform charge entirely. It is the single biggest lever on what you pay.
Brush between appointments
Mats form closest to the skin, where you can't see them. A few minutes with a slicker brush behind the ears, under the legs, and around the collar prevents most of the dematting time.

Why are poodles, doodles, and double coats priced separately?
Those coats simply take longer. A doodle's coat keeps growing and tangles close to the skin, and a double coat has a dense undercoat that has to be worked all the way out. The extra time is real work, so it has its own column on the price list rather than being added as a surprise at pickup.
What sizes do you use, and where does my dog fall?

Do matted dogs cost more to groom?

What is the 8+ week reform fee?
If it has been more than eight weeks since your dog's last groom, the coat has usually grown well past its finished length and needs to be reformed before the new cut can start. That extra time is charged at $1 per minute. Booking every four to six weeks generally avoids it.
What counts as a specialty cut?
